Local cherries, grown less than 25kms from Nuits-Saint-Georges, are the secret to Cartron Crème de Cerise. The same producers have been supplying Cartron with two meticulously selected varieties of fruit for several generations, and the recipe and proportions for blending are precise: 1/3 Montmorency – a bitter cherry, and 2/3 Chalonnaise – a black cherry.
